Creating a Tournament
If you are a tournament director of an organization, you may create tournaments.
- Log in to BowlBoard by clicking the Sign In button at the top right.
- From the home page, under the Management Tools section, click Manage Tournaments.
- Click the Create Tournament button.
- Fill out the details of the tournament.
- Organization: Choose the organization that the tournament is hosted by. You must be a director of the organization to select it.
- Name: The name of the tournament.
- Bowling center: The bowling center where the tournament will take place. If it is not in the predefined list, please contact us to have it added.
- Description (optional): A public description of the tournament. You can include tournament rules or a link to them here. If you'd like to add formatting, markdown is supported. For more guidance on formatting, visit markdownguide.org.
- Start/End date: The start and end date of the tournament as a whole. You and other directors/managers will only be able to create events and squad times for this tournament within this date range.
- Basis score (for handicap events): The score from which a bowler's average will be deducted. The result is multiplied by the multiplier value.
- Multiplier (for handicap events): The value used to calculated a bowler's handicap for the tournament. If it is a scratch-only tournament, set the multiplier to 0 to disable handicap features for the tournament.
- Registration cutoff minutes: The number of minutes prior to the start time of a squad that a user must register by. Self-registration for a squad will close automatically once the time has passed this set number of minutes prior to the start time.
- Side pot cutoff minutes: The number of minutes prior to the start time of a squad-level side pot (Brackets, Match Play entry, Eliminator) that a user must register by. It is assumed that the side pot's start time is the same time as the squad it is associated with.
- Enable event averages: Check the box to enable per-event bowler averages. Caution: Enabling this means that for any update to a bowler's average while managing bowlers in an event's squad, it will only update the average for that event. If an event-specific average is not set, BowlBoard will use the bowler's average set for the tournament.
